On 6 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended the Extraordinary Meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Zagreb, Croatia. The meeting that was organized upon the request of Greece focused  on the humanitarian crisis in Syria, the eruption of tensions along Greece's land border with Turkey, and a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

On 10 and 11 March, the Foreign Ministers of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, and Bulgaria will take part in the Bucharest 9 meeting in Vilnius. The event will also be attended by special guests: the U.S. Acting Assistant Secretary of State and NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Defense Policy and Planning.

On 25 February, at the Constitutive Meeting of the new Center of Excellence for Civilian Crisis Management (CoE) in Berlin, Germany, the Ambassador of Lithuania to Germany Darius Jonas Semaška signed the statute. Along with other 13 member states of the European Union, Lithuania became a founding member of the new CoE.

On 17 February, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Albinas Zanavičius attended the General Affairs Council, which prepared the special meeting of the European Council on 20 February and discussed the EU's multiannual financial framework for the 2021‑2027 period.

On 17 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. The Council discussed views on Libya and how to enhance EU engagement in the country, as well as the EU’s relations with Africa and India. In addition, Foreign Ministers and the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama had an exchange of views on prospects for the opening of accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia.

On 5 February in Washington, D.C., the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Dalius Čekuolis attended the inaugural meeting of the new International Religious Freedom Alliance that was launched by the United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The meeting was attended by representatives from 27 countries.

On 23 January, Lithuania ratified the Protocol amending the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (ETS No. 108), which provides the modernised Convention 108+ and was adopted in Strasbourg on 10 October 2018.

On 14 January, Ambassador Audra Plepytė, Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the United Nations was elected as the Vice-President of the Bureau of the Executive Board of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Lithuania's Ambassador will work along with the Permanent Representatives of Bangladesh, Brazil, Morocco, and Switzerland.

On 10 January, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. The Council was briefed on the latest developments in Iraq, including through an exchange with the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg, and discussed the role of the EU in de-escalating heightened tensions in the Middle East region.
